Retired aerospace worker and John's father. Initially feeble and dependent on his wife Bette, he gradually bonds with John during her recovery. After a cancer diagnosis triggers a coma, he awakens with a renewed, delusional vigor, living in a fantasy world. He eventually relapses, shares heartfelt memories with his son, and passes away.
