Cpl. Arthur "Mitch" Mitchell, a soldier found talking to the victim Samuels. Drunk and leaving the apartment shortly after the alleged argument, he becomes the prime suspect. After evading police, he spends the night with Ginny Tremayne. His partial alibi and Keeley's investigation eventually clear his name.
