A gang leader who secretly marries Joan Manning. He commits a robbery during which a policeman is killed, then manipulates Joan into providing a false alibi. After discovering that police planted undercover agent Danny McGann in his gang, Chick murders him. Cornered by police in his home, he escapes to the roof but falls to his death while attempting to jump to a nearby building.
Chick and Danny are mortal enemies due to their opposing criminal and law enforcement roles.
