Arrogant speakeasy owner and local thug who constantly harasses Gladys at the theater. He is soundly beaten by Terry after rushing back to town. Later, his lies are exposed during Gladys's courtroom cross-examination, and he is ultimately killed by John Cosgrove in a drunken rage.
