Originally Caroline Carter, she is the protagonist who fights for custody of her son and a successful acting career after her divorce. She moves to New York, works with producer David Belasco, marries fellow actor Lou Payne, tours internationally, and ultimately balances her professional ambitions with personal fulfillment.
