Referred to as Lakshmi in the plot, she is the daughter of Parvathi's dying friend. Promised to Rangan to fulfill a vow, she marries him and stands by his side during the family's downfall. Together, they care for the parents, endure false accusations from the sons, and are forced to leave for the family's peace. She later supports Rangan in reconciling with the household and restoring their home.
