Young independent woman who joins the Basque nationalist group ETA, quickly rises in its organization, and falls in love with Joxean. After losing faith in ETA's cause following civilian killings and the death of leader Argi, she goes underground to Mexico and earns a PhD. She later returns to the Basque country with her husband and daughter, only to be condemned and assassinated by former comrades who mistake her return for espionage.
They develop a romantic bond while both are involved with or near the movement.
Argi commands the armed group that Yoyes initially joins.
