The corrupt and obsessed Archdeacon who orders Quasimodo to kidnap Esmeralda, frames her for stabbing Phoebus, and repeatedly tries to force her into submission. He ultimately betrays Esmeralda to the guards, strikes down Quasimodo, and is killed by the hunchback after orchestrating her execution.
