Driven by guilt, he assists his violent brother Harald in a van heist and later breaks Franz out of prison. After killing his dismissive girlfriend Hanne, he joins Harald in a desperate bank robbery to fund a trip to South Africa, where he is fatally shot. His spirit later enters limbo and is granted entry to Heaven.
