A homeless boy and Jamie's companion. Together they commit minor thefts, including stealing a chicken. Hugh later joins Jamie in doing night laundry to support Jamie's mother. He discovers Handel's missing gold watch and later informs Handel about Jamie's struggles, leading to Jamie's exoneration. He attends the final performance.
