A kind diner owner in a small town who takes in a fugitive Jimmy. Recognizing the teen's good nature, Al offers him shelter and employment on the condition that he abandons crime and attends church. He later accompanies Jimmy home, helps him turn himself in, and alerts the police to the gangster's hideout.
