A nurse living in poverty with her sick mother. After her mother dies under Dr. Ravi's care, she marries him out of guilt. They honeymoon in Kashmir, but she falls ill from research stress, leaves to avoid burdening him, and tragically dies in a train accident. Ravi never gets over her loss.
