Maragatham's husband and Gowri's brother. Initially angry at Muthu for rejecting the marriage proposal, he exiles Maragatham as revenge. Later, he understands Muthu's devotion, secretly supports his sister, finds a suitable groom for Gowri, and reunites with Maragatham.
