Unemployed, free-spirited musician twelve years younger than Nina. He enters a relationship with Nina after her divorce, befriends Stephen, and forms a precarious trio. After Stephen's assault on Nina, Elmo confronts and hits him. He later informs Stephen of Nina's pregnancy before leaving town.
