The young prince of Kalinga and brother to Kaurwaki, who flees his kingdom after his parents' assassination. Initially believed slaughtered, he later returns to reclaim his throne. He is killed by arrows during the Kalinga war, dying in Asoka's arms and catalyzing Asoka's renunciation of violence.
