Niki (referred to as Nikki in the plot) is David's separated wife who begins dating her coworker Derek. She navigates the emotional fallout of the separation, attempts to maintain a cooperative co-parenting relationship, and faces a violent confrontation when Derek assaults David. After being accidentally shot by David, she forgives him and works toward family reconciliation.
