Middle son of William. Serves in WWI, holds dying brother Samuel, and cuts out his heart. Discharged after a ferocious raid, he wanders, later marries Isabel Two, and engages in rum-running. After her death, he kills gangsters, survives his family, and dies fighting a bear in 1963.
