Judge Brand's secretary sent west to rebuild Nugget Notch and locate the Adams heir. He recruits an Old West troupe, confronts Raynor, and is kidnapped but rescued by a wolf. He helps claim gold, faces Raynor's demands, and is shot in the arm during Raynor's trial.
