Fire Chief of the San Francisco Fire Department who coordinates the massive rescue operation. He forces the building owner to evacuate guests, abseils down the shaft to safety, and partners with the architect to blow up rooftop water tanks to extinguish the flames, ultimately surviving and later mentoring the architect on fire safety.
