A former district attorney who prosecutes a case so aggressively that an innocent man is executed. Guilt-ridden, he quits to open a private practice representing racketeer J.B. Roscoe, using the funds to pay for his brother's law school education. As he grows increasingly unethical, he desperately fights to save his brother from a framed murder charge and execution.
