Corrupt NYPD narcotics detective who partners with Bob Carvo in illegal scams. After capturing Leo Smith, who claims to be the Copkiller, O'Connor becomes paranoid and manipulates events to frame Leo for murder. His guilt and paranoia lead to alcoholism, a failed attempt to murder Lenore, and ultimately his suicide when Leo frames him as the true killer.
