An idealistic archaeologist who challenges Kay's beliefs and enters a romance with her. He travels to New York to resume their affair but is harshly rejected until he discovers her deception. After a confrontation, he gives a lecture that prompts Kay to reconsider. He is later hired as an executive by Kay's father but feels claustrophobic and yearns to return to his archaeological work in Greece.
