Inmate initially nicknamed Zero due to illiteracy, whose real name is Hector Zeroni. He flees camp after a confrontation but is rescued by Stanley. Together they survive the desert using wild onions, which inadvertently breaks the Yelnats family curse. Hector helps Stanley uncover a buried treasure chest and later uses the recovered wealth to locate his missing mother.
