Mel's teenage grandson who abandons his Harvard plans to attend a local college and care for him. He helps Mel enroll, works at a health food store where he accidentally gets entangled in an illegal gambling operation, and temporarily cuts classes to look after Mel after a hospitalization before reconciling with him.
