The protagonist and lead race car driver. He repairs his vehicle, accidentally drags the sleeping sheriff in his bed through the garage, competes in a dangerous cross-country race, survives losing his brakes and mechanic mid-track, jumps back into his speeding car, and wins the race to kiss Du Poys' daughter.
