The film's protagonist, a young man aspiring to be an actor. He works as a butcher's accountant in Cairo's Rod al-Faraj neighborhood. After the area is shut down for gentrification, he moves to France to pursue his dream. There, he ends up in illegal boxing matches, gets betrayed by his partner, loses his money and identity, and ultimately returns to Cairo to start over.
