An Army captain and lone survivor of an initial Apache ambush. He leads the group toward the fort, warns against supplying weapons to the natives, develops a romantic connection with Mara Fay, and ultimately allies with Link Ferris to orchestrate the final ambush that defeats the Apache raiders.
