Steve's friend and co-worker who gets fired alongside him. He attempts to raise money in an underground casino but is caught by Rogor's enforcer and held for ransom. Steve signs an Arena contract to pay the debt. Later, Shorty investigates the championship sabotage, damages the handicap computer in a fight, and directly enables Steve to regain his full fighting ability and win the title.
