The primary antagonist. A successful Wall Street lawyer and later SEC Director, he subjects Charlotte to severe domestic violence and manipulation. Despite repeated apologies, professional ruin, and court intervention, he refuses to change, testifies that Charlotte enjoyed the abuse, and continues pressuring her for reconciliation until the divorce is finalized.
