A young Viscount and childhood friend of Franz. He meets the Count, becomes entangled in his revenge schemes, and falls in love with Eugénie. After learning his father Fernand's crimes, he challenges the Count to a duel. He ultimately helps banish the Gankutsuou entity, survives, and reunites with Eugénie.
