A former friar turned musketeer who steadfastly maintains his duties despite the Cardinal's orders to disband the unit. He joins d'Artagnan in combat and is critically wounded by Richelieu during the final battle. His crucifix deflects the fatal shot, allowing him to reveal himself as the boatman who tracks Richelieu's escape. He attempts to arrest the Cardinal.
