A professional race car driver at the peak of his career. After his co-driver Ed dies in a crash, Mark adopts Ed's son Jimmy, quits racing due to trauma, and works as a taxi driver to pay for Jimmy's school. He eventually overcomes his demons, returns to racing, and wins another major race.
