Basanti's elder sister who supports the family through tailoring. She falls in love with Rajesh, prompting Basanti's sacrifice. Rajesh marries her, and they have a son. She later suspects a bond between Rajesh and Basanti, drives Basanti away, and dies of guilt upon learning the truth.
