An unsuccessful, old-fashioned lawyer and former seminarian who initially takes Susanna's case for a 2% fee but later becomes fiercely determined to defend her after being attacked by Kurien's men. He investigates the murder, recovers crucial wedding records, proves her marriage in court, and ultimately saves her and her son from Kurien's final assassination attempt.
