One of Colonel Brunswick's three privates. Briefly promoted to sergeant against his wishes, he later appears to desert. He secretly infiltrates the besieged fort at Imara, kills insurgent leader Manik Rao, and saves the trapped British soldiers. Ultimately receives a demotion back to private.
