Intelligent teenage outcast living at his family's Arizona hotel. Initially focused on studying abroad, he becomes the center of a bizarre quest when a computer dating service and two strangers claim he is an alien leader with planetary coordinates locked in his brain. He discovers unusual abilities like helium inhalation, pursues a relationship with lounge singer Lisa, and ultimately chooses Earth over the aliens due to his growing feelings for her. His father's rotating lounge is mistakenly believed to be a spaceship.
