Casino owner who returns early from Mexico and discovers his wife's infidelity. He divorces her but retains Joe as a valuable employee. After learning his brother Bob is marrying Rose, he attempts to buy her off and conceals the truth to protect Bob. He eventually confronts Rose about her secrets before she departs and dies.
