A Soviet double agent arrested and subjected to a psychological campaign by KGB officer Sinitzyn. He reunites with his family, discovers his father's mysterious murder, and ultimately chooses to defect back to the USSR. He travels West as a Soviet resident, replacing Leonid Krug.
