A local hunter who searches the Okefenokee Swamp for his dog and forms a partnership with fugitive Tom Keefer. Ben sells their trapped game, assists Keefer's daughter Julie, and forces Jesse Wick to confess to clear Keefer's name. He survives an ambush by the real killers and returns to town for a dance.
