A virtuoso drummer and former student of Mr. Su who selflessly helps Su Ling's family. He mentors Su Ling into a successful nightclub singer and falls in love with her. He struggles with a drug addiction used for focus, breaks his promise to quit, but eventually explains himself, recovers, and marries Su Ling.
