A local police officer who investigates the death of student Gus Pierce. Initially accepting it as suicide, he uncovers evidence of systemic bullying and hazing. His relentless pursuit of the truth forces him to confront his own survivor's guilt regarding his brother's suicide. He ultimately rejects police corruption, resigns his badge, burns the suicide note to protect the victim's friend, and finds personal closure.
