A wealthy young woman who becomes intrigued by Harold's manuscript during a train ride. She repeatedly visits his hometown to see him but impulsively agrees to marry her older suitor Ronald after a heartbreaking misunderstanding. She eventually discovers Ronald's bigamy and happily accepts Harold's proposal.
