Binodini's aunt and a conservative Vaishnavite widow who hosts the family. She opposes Mahendra and Ashalata's modern lifestyle, retreating to Kashi. Upon learning of Mahendra's affair with Binodini, she expels the widow from the household before passing away in Kashi.
