The son of the assassinated engineer Eng. Labroue. By 1880, he manages the factory formerly controlled by the impostor Paul Harmant (Jacques Garaud). He develops a romantic relationship with Mary, Harmant's daughter, who has a weak heart. Ultimately, he becomes the partner of Lucie, Jeanne Fortier's daughter, representing the next generation's path toward reconciliation and a new beginning after the past's crimes are exposed.
