Akbar's son, initially a spoiled youth sent to war to learn discipline. Returns as a soldier, falls in love with Anarkali, and rebels against his father to rescue her. Defeated and sentenced to death, he is spared when Anarkali offers to die in his place. He is later drugged during a pretend marriage to prevent him from interfering with her entombment.
