A proud, aging recluse who disowns his daughter over a marriage dispute. Initially hostile upon finding an abandoned baby in a hamper, he gradually softens and affectionately names her Little Sunbeam. His deep love for the child ultimately leads to his reconciliation with his estranged daughter.
