A heavily alcoholic man Sylvia meets on a holiday in Tenerife. He accompanies her to Sweden, but becomes the prime suspect in the brutal murder of Sylvia's daughter after a Midsummer night, as his severe intoxication leaves him unable to recall his whereabouts or actions during the crime.
