Physical education teacher blackmailed into teaching a remedial English summer school class. Initially unprepared, he learns to connect with his underachieving students by making education fun and granting them personal favors. After a period of absence, he returns to guide them through their final exam, ultimately earning tenure and winning the affection of Robin Bishop.
