A well-educated, rich, and shy 28-year-old battling leukemia. He hires Hilary as his live-in caretaker during chemotherapy. To preserve his quality of life, he hides his deteriorating health and secretly uses morphine, causing a confrontation. He fears hoping and plans to run away from the hospital and his father, but ultimately chooses to return and fight for his life alongside Hilary.
