A Southern Baptist preacher and Flipper's father. He takes in his son after his wife kicks him out and harshly chastises him and Angie during a family dinner. In a tragic climax, he disowns his crack-addicted son Gator and shoots him after a violent altercation, later watching remorsefully as Gator dies in their mother's arms.
